This section provides online access to the formal courses developed in the context of the GLOBALMAT project.

1. Teachers Adaptation

This course targets:

  • everyone that wishes to get an introduction and understanding of what videoconferencing might offer as a distance training and learning arena for organizations offering technical training.

  • everyone that wants to specialize by focusing on blended learning techniques in visual communication.

2. Quality Assurance in Welding Fabrication

This guideline for the education and training on Quality Assurance in welding fabrication has been prepared, evaluated and formulated by the Working Group “ of the GlobalMat project. Section 1 of the guideline covers the minimum requirements for education and training in terms of objectives, keywords expected results and recommended times devoted to them. Students having successfully completed this course of education will be expected to be capable of considering the Quality Assurance related to welding fabrication activities and to consider appropriate investments in education, qualification, and equipment in order to manage the quality assurance. The section II covers the examination and qualification.

3. Quality Assurance of Outsourced Production Processes

The course provides a method for teaching on quality assurance issues. Based on existing quality assurance processes and in existing educational programs in the VET sector, the following sections describe the teaching objectives of the course as a methodology and provide details on the content to be used in the teaching process.

4. Semantic Interoperability

The course will highlight information related to communication through a 3- language, not familiar for the partners in the outsourced production environment and the semantic interoperability arising from such communication. Understanding of technical expressions based on differences in production culture and experience from different industrial applications by visualization of such problems through VCC technology.

5. Management Principles for Outsourced Production

The course outlines some of the management topics which must be addressed during an outsourcing process of industrial products.

6. Environmental Safety

The Environmental Safety training course covers the basic needs for understanding of environmental safety for welders.

7. Welding of Stainless Steel

The stainless steel course is follows the IIW/EWF Guideline for International Welder. For more information see the EWF web site (www.ewf.be) The course follows the guideline and covers the competence to allow the student to reach the competence as an International Fillet Welder.
